Our recent project – split system replacement at Glebe.
Last week our team replaced an old Panasonic wall mounted split system with the new Daikin ones for a top level apartment in the Glebe area.
Initially a customer called us to have a look at his broken aircon. When our technician came he found the very old split system (from 2006) with a faulty main electronic board. Because that model is too old and out of the market for more than a decade it’s impossible to find any spare parts for it and the only solution was to replace the whole system. The original system had a 5 kilowatts capacity and we suggested replacing it with a new one but like-for-like with the same capacity.
The feature of the current split systems generation is that the physical dimensions of the indoor unit is smaller than the previous generation (even with exactly the same capacity) and that’s why there is always an unpainted part of the wall where the original indoor unit was. The outdoor unit installed on the balcony on the special anti-vibration threaded mounting blocks to keep the bottom of the outdoor unit off the floor to prevent rust and corrosion.
