Our recent project – Ducted system replacement at Balmain.
Recently our team replaced an old ducted system Actron in an apartment in the Balmain area.
The original system was installed in 1999 and completely failed by 2024 so the customer decided to replace it during the renovation.
The feature of that ducted system is that the indoor unit is installed in a wardrobe space and has a discharge side blowing the air vertically up into the sheet metal ductwork and then spreading the air throughout the apartment. That type of the ducted indoor unit is called a vertical type while the standard ducted system has a horizontal type of the indoor unit.
The only manufacturers who do that type of the unit in Australia are Actron and Panasonic.
Our team decided to stick with the Actron as all that apartment’s ductwork and a space inside the wardrobe was built and suited the Actron brand even in spite of the huge age difference between the original model and the new model of Actron it has absolutely the same size and easily fits into the installation space.
The outdoor unit is pretty big with two top discharge fans and installed at the end of the balcony. The noise level is very low and cannot be heard with the windows and balcony doors closed, which makes it perfect for the block of apartments.
